Thanks for taking the time to walk me through the troubleshooting steps! I didnât realize that a shift-refresh in the browser was not enough to flush out the effects of the corporate proxy. We need Origin, because sometimes Referer is absent. I just tried clearing both Safariâs and Chromeâs cache (while off the corporate network) and it is now working for both of them as well! It worked!! So, I guess my browser is somehow caching/remembering something about how the proxy has mangled observablehqâs headers? So⦠I just tried Firefox (which I havenât run for weeks). Sounds like the recommended way to do it is to have your server read the Origin header from the client, compare that to the list of domains you would like to allow, and if it matches, echo the value of the Origin header back to the client as the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header in the response. Iâm off the corporate VPN/proxy now and Safari is doing the exact same thing even with new tabs (or with shift-refreshing a page). I do normally work behind a corporate proxy, but I tested both on and off the corporate network to make sure that wasnât an issue (using both Chrome and Safari, but without restarting either one or clearing their chaches). CORS issue in Chrome though Access-Control-Allow-Origin header is present. Note: null should not be used: 'It may seem safe to return Access-Control-Allow-Origin: 'null', but the serialization of the Origin of any resource that uses a non-hierarchical scheme (such as data: or file:) and sandboxed documents is defined to be 'null'. I just edited the post to use square brackets instead. Specifies a URI that may access the resource.Point about the HTML tag (I hadnât noticed that it was dropped). ![]()
